Improve Note Recognition in Simply Sing

Voice not being detected or pitch not being recognized

Written by Debra

Here are a few tips to help you get the best note recognition from Simply Sing:

  1. If the app isn't hearing your voice at all, you'll need to make sure your microphone permissions are enabled

  2. Connect headphones to your mobile device so that the background music doesn’t interfere

  3. Try connecting headphones to your device so that the background music doesn’t interfere. But if you’re still having trouble, switch back to your device’s built-in microphone, as some headphones or external mics may not be fully supported.

  4. Sing clearly (don’t whisper)

  5. Bring the microphone of your device closer to you

  6. Remove the case on your device so it doesn't block the microphone

  7. Check if you are playing with the latest version of the Simply Sing app. If this is not the case, update the app before you continue.

  8. Restart your phone to ensure there is no interference with other running apps.

If Simply Sing isn’t responding to your voice even after trying the above steps, it could be related to your device. Some Android devices and microphone setups aren’t fully supported yet, which can affect how accurately your voice is detected.

If this happens, we recommend trying:

  • Your device’s built-in microphone (instead of headphones or external mics)

  • A different device, if possible
